Alisa Gvozdeva (b. 1996) graduated from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a degree in Cognitive Studies at St. Petersburg State University. Currently, Alisa creates intricately compositional paintings and ceramic objects.
In her artistic practice, Alisa finds her way into a specific state of consciousness, which can be defined as meditation. The paradox lies in the fact that the artist acts, yet enters a state where no decisions are made. Thanks to this state, the artist manages to depart from the logical and attain unity, the bliss of pure intellect. Through this practice, the content of the works can be both a reflection of reality and subconscious realms with all their archetypal components.
