Olympe Guillet is an artist that works at first with writing and then creates a dialogue between images and texts. She’s interested in making physical intangible things such as language, reading, the reception of information and the temporality of creation. Her medium of choice is paper and it works as a subject in her research. She plays with it and pushes it to its limits through accumulations, repetitions of writings and images and through assembling. The artist works with protocols and systems that explore notions of dissimulation and access to words and images. By exhausting the shapes she works with, she creates a distance with the subject and leans toward the autonomy of drawings and writings.
